We will begin the sign up this week for the first annual HJH Big Event!
What is the Big Event?
The HJH Big Event will be a day of giving back through community service. This is modeled after several universities/schools around the country.
Who will participate?
Any current HJH student, HJH staff members, and parent volunteers!
How will HJH do it?
Since this is the inaugural year of The Big Event, we will start off small. We are looking for a few small community service projects to get our feet wet with hopes to expand the day in years to come. Participants will meet at a central location (the school or possibly Kooken Field) and will walk to their community service project location with adult supervision. Once we make it to the location, we will conduct the work. The work could range from picking up trash to mowing a lawn or pulling weeds in a flower bed, etc. Once we conclude our job, we will meet back at the central location and have a celebratory lunch before we head home for the day.
Why do it?
We want to instill a sense of community and thanksgiving within our students. This is why we are doing the Big Event!
Sign-Up to Volunteer!
We will begin the process of signing up to volunteer very soon and will be sending out permission slips for those who sign up shortly after!
