Hamilton teams soar to the State FFA Contest

Hamilton FFA will be well represented at the State FFA contest this year. The Livestock, Range, Land, and Horse teams all will move forward to the State Contest! These students are a part of the Career Development Event (CDE) contests through FFA. The invitational rounds and area contests were hosted at Tarleton State University, marking the 53rd year for Tarleton to host. Tarleton welcomed more than 10,200 Texas FFA members for the invitational CDE contest on Thursday, March 27th.

The Horse judging team of Brazos McGregor, Aubrey Rowe, Masyn Raibourn, and Ashlee Mann placed 5th overall securing their place at the State round. Brazos McGregor scored as 7th highest individual overall. The team will compete next weekend in Lubbock. (The team had to leave early due to another obligation, so we were unable to get a picture.)

The Livestock team of Jaxon Edwards, Zeb Murphree, Zac Adams, and Cooper Turner placed 5th moving them into the State round. Sophomore Zeb Murphree placed 5th overall. Pictured below L-R is Jaxon Edwards, Zeb Murphree, Zac Adams. Turner had to leave for track and is not pictured.

Livestock Judging

The Range Judging team took home 2nd place trailing first place City View by 3 points. Junior, Bret Bauman, took home 1st Place individual. Pictured L-R is Sponsor Terry Baize, Lawson Yates, Bret Bauman, Colter Johnson, and Brayden Bartley.

The Livestock, Range, and Land teams compete at Tarleton State University Thursday April 24th to secure a place at the National FFA CDE Competition on May 8th. Horse Judging competes next weekend at Lubbock to hopefully secure their place at the National competition.
