HISD Chromebooks
Hamilton ISD is a 1:1 Chromebook district. From Kinder - 12th grade, all of our students have access to Chromebooks. With the ever-changing digital world, we feel that we need to prepare students for the future.
Kinder - 5th Grade all have classroom sets of Chromebooks. These Chromebooks are only used at school.
Students in 6th - 12th grade are assigned a Chromebook & Case at the beginning of the year and are responsible for it during the school year. Students are allowed to take the Chromebooks home to complete schoolwork. The Junior High and High schools each have specific expectations for the students’ conduct and care of the Chromebooks. Each campus has a Chromebook handbook that outlines the requirements for student use of the Chromebooks. Students in grades 6th-12th are asked to pay a $30 insurance fee at the beginning of the year. This fee can be used to cover the first broken screen or lost charger. If the student doesn't pay the fee at the beginning of the year or the student breaks more than one screen or loses more than one charger, they are responsible for the cost of any extra damage.
All student Chromebooks are filtered at school and at home using a system called GoGuardian. More information can be found about GoGuardian here.
